The Spidle's Letting the  Son Shine In

A positive Confession

Picture
I had a good friend call me the other day. At least I count him a good friend, I can’t speak for him but when he called he said that he came out of a house and forgetting where he actually was walked out like he was at home and the steps were farther apart or wider and he fell. I teased him about things like that happening to old people and that his mind might be slipping etc. Then I found out that is was a serious fall and he has separated his shoulder and might have rotator cuff damage! Then I went into how terrible something like that can be and that I knew people that suffered from those things and prepared him for more pain and hospital etc. He told me that I was just like everyone else, everybody told him things like that and that it did not make him feel any better. I awoke out of my slumbering state as if Jesus had called to me like he did Lazarus that day at the tomb when he SHOUTED LAZARUS COME FORTH and he did.

I have struggled for years over the positive confession crowd. Confessing that you are not sick when you are or confessing that a BMW that is not yours, is and eventually it becomes yours. That is not what a positive confession is! We need to have a positive confession about who we are and who we serve. Our positive confession should be a positive confession of FAITH. Example: I work a secular job for an agriculture cooperative. I believe that they have outstanding products and programs. They have great people that work very hard to make doing business with them a pleasant experience.

Where ever I am I represent them. I am constantly looking for an opportunity to convert someone to a new customer. I always have a positive confession of what we are about and what we can do. If I had a so, so attitude about the company or talked negatively about it I would never get a new customer.

When we talk to anyone with a need we should stand ready to share the faith that we have been given. The Bible tells us in Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. This says that God has given all of us the measure of faith. It does not say how much faith that is whether it is a thimble full or a gallon, it just says the measure. Well you say why are some folks looked upon as great men and women of faith if we all have the same? Why does it appear that some have more than others? God gave us all the measure of muscles. Why do some appear to have more muscles than others? Exercise. They exercise them and they get bigger. Our faith and confidence in God gets bigger when we share our needs and the needs of others with him and we see those needs met. I have gotten so wrapped up in the things around me that I have started to rely on my own abilities and the abilities of Doctors that I don’t pray first. I use it as a last resort. I think of Peter when he told Jesus that was walking on the water if it be you let me come out to you and Jesus said come. Peter stepped out of the boat and he took a step. He looked at the waves and the evidence of the wind on the water and as he took his mind off of the ability of Jesus and thought of his abilities and the natural order of things he sank. But when he screamed (The King James Version of the Bible says in Matthew 14:30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord save me.) Lord SAVE ME! And in verse 31 it says immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? When did I began to put more faith in man than God when it came to healing? It was as if Jesus was saying to me O thou of little faith. I am determined to allow God to do great things in the future by asking him to. When someone has a need I am going to ask them if I can pray with them and ask God to intervene.

I just read again the 11 chapter of Hebrews. I love this chapter; it talks about the faith of great men and women of God. It mentions Noah, E-noch, Abraham, Sarah, Jacob and Moses. It sights great examples of all of these but I also noticed Joseph and though I consider many items in his life worthy of being in this chapter, it says in vs. 22 By Faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones. You have to remember that the Children of Israel were not in bondage at this time. Genesis 50:25 says; And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones form hence. 26; So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt. Wow for the next 400 years the children of Israel were in bondage, made to work in the brick yard under harsh conditions but there was a coffin in Egypt that called out to the Children of Israel, God would deliver you. Joseph had faith and confidence in God that he was able and would do what he said. The coffin called out to those making bricks don’t get too used to the food here because God was moving them to a place flowing with milk and honey. It call out to them that God was going to break the bondage they were under! They had a coffin with some bones that testified of the Power of God to deliver and make a way where there seemed no way. We as Christians have and empty tomb that shouts to us of the wonderful life changing power of God. Telling us that one day were are moving out to a better place. Jesus said I go to prepare a place. John 14:2 says In my Fathers house are many mansions: if it were no so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also; The empty tomb calls out to us, by my stripes ye are healed! It calls out of the supernatural ability of God!

God has been speaking to me all week about this. I know who God is. He created this earth we live on and the heavens we see at night. I believe that he breathed into man the breath of life and I believe he has prepared a place for us when this life is over. I also believe in one of the greatest miracles that have ever happened. That is the simple act of salvation. Jesus died on the cross and shed his blood as atonement for sin. Taking the sin of the world upon him. We have to recognize that we are a sinner and ask Jesus to forgive us our sins. The Bible tells us in 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I want to challenge you to exercise your faith. Lets share with others what God has done in our lives. Let’s go visit someone in the hospital and pray for them asking God to move and show himself in ways we have not imagined.

I pray each one that reads this that your faith will be stirred. Let me know If I can pray with you. Join with me in praying for my friend Dave that he will receive a complete healing.
